MAKOTO KUROSAKI KUROUCHI NAKIRI 165mm
Makoto Kurosaki has been working amongst the Takefu knife making community for many years but has made the transition from his role as a grinding specialist to forging his own line. His intimate understanding of blade geometry and finishing really shows in this Kurouchi series, the spine and choil have been highly polished and the edges slightly rounded making it extremely comfortable to hold. The series have a smooth distal taper towards the tip giving it great accuracy and the grind is thin just behind the edge resulting in remarkably high cutting performance. Makoto is using Shirogami clad with stainless, this traditional laminated construction is enjoyable to sharpen freehand and the super fine grain structure of Shirogami is capable of draw dropping sharpness.
