Shigarakiyaki Hechimon Hakeme Matcha Bowl
Shigaraki ware (Shigaraki yaki) is one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns which have been made around Shigaraki town in Shiga prefecture, Japan since around 1260. One of their feature is that it is made using coarse soil that accomplishes their highly fire-resistant. During the firing process, it acquires pink/other shades of red; therefore, those ceramics have red with scarlet/brown overtones.
Hechimon is one of the words being used by craftsmen in Shigaraki town and it can be translated into eccentric, odd, unique etc. Please enjoy their ceramics which have different features one by one.
