Hand forged by Yoshimi Kato with a core of SG2 powdered steel at the core at approximately 63/65 HRC.
The founder of Kato Hamono, Kintaro Kato, began forging knives in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, in 1928. His skills have been inherited by third-generation craftsman Yoshimi Kato, who is continuing to pass down their techniques to younger apprentices while making knives and sickles.
