PATCHWORK PATTERN CUP BY AYA KONDO
Aya Kondo's ceramics reflect a quiet, lifelong dedication, shaped by travels in Asia and training in Mashiko. She establised her kiln in Kasama in 2001, where her style has steadily evolved. Her work is defined by finely hand-painted arabesque patterns, now coplemented by rich moss-green Oribe-style glazes alongside her signature warm yellow-brown tones, Subtle and refined, her pieces have become a valued presence in homes across Japan.
Rich mossy greens, and sweeter brown caramels form blocks of colour that run into each other, and decorate the side of the cups which are perfect for tea or sake.
