ICCHIN CUP AND SAUCER BY AYA KONDO
Aya Kondo's ceramics reflect a quiet, lifelong dedication, shaped by travels in Asia and training in Mashiko. She establised her kiln in Kasama in 2001, where her style has steadily evolved. Her work is defined by finely hand-painted arabesque patterns, now coplemented by rich moss-green Oribe-style glazes alongside her signature warm yellow-brown tones, Subtle and refined, her pieces have become a valued presence in homes across Japan.
With this set of a cup and a saucer, she uses a dripper to apply slip onto the surfaces in an arabesque pattern distinctive in her work. Also, she pairs it with her caramel edge glaze shade, in a piece fired in her kiln.
