TOKONAME WARE CERAMIC TEA ROASTER/HOROKU(HOJI-KI) (BLACK)
A horoku(hoji-ki) is a heat-resistant roasting vessel used to heat tea leaves and make hojicha (roasted green tea).
After roasting, the tea leaves can be poured into a teapot through the opening in the handle.
You can create your own freshly roasted tea with a wonderful aroma and enjoy an even more delicious cup of tea.
You can also roast leftover or older tea leaves to your preferred level and make delicious hojicha.
If you roast powdered tea, you can easily make cold-brew-style hojicha.
It can also be used for roasting beans, sesame seeds, salt, beans, ginkgo nuts, and other ingredients.
How to Use
Place the desired amount of tea leaves in the roaster and heat over a low gas flame.
Once the tea leaves begin to move, gently shake the roaster. Allow the smoke to escape while roasting, and continue until the tea reaches your preferred colour.
Once roasted, allow the tea to cool before use.
